Employment Counselling

Our employment consultants are specialists who understand the labour market and know what Canadian employers are looking for.

Employment Counselling offers:

  • Individualized career decision making and planning;
  • Assessment of your abilities, skills, experience and other qualifying characteristics;
  • Access to evaluation of foreign credentials;
  • Improved understanding of job search strategies, occupational research and Labour Market Information;
  • Support with resume development, interview preparation and learning what employers are looking for;
  • Specialized support for new immigrants trying to achieve success in the Canadian workplace

Whether you are new to Canada or if you have been here for several years, employment counselling can help you find work.

Career Counselling

Unemployment can be a difficult and stressful time. Accessing one of our many specialized programs and services can make a real difference in your success in the labour market. Our Employment Consultants can help you research and develop a plan for work that will use your abilities, qualifications and interests. This is an individual process and we will begin by meeting and assessing your work history, qualifications, interests, abilities as well as the labour market in the area that you are seeking employment.

If you are new to Canada we can help you: get your qualifications assessed; learn how to find a job in Canada; and understand Canadian workplace culture.

If you have lived here in Canada for many years, you may find that the changing economy requires new skills and has made you consider a new career. You may want to improve your English skills and make a plan to take training. We can help you with your planning and going back to school to study.

These services are available at no cost to all
unemployed individuals eligible to work in Canada.
