Nanaimo faces numerous social challenges which will continue to severely impact the most marginalized of our citizens. The Interfaith Forum hosted by the Central Vancouver Island Multicultural Society was a rare opportunity for dialogue amongst diverse groups in the community. Drafting solutions which are responsive to the resources available to us and needs being addressed must begin with community dialogue. The Interfaith forum was well attended and generated relevant and interesting conversation and ideas for action amongst the diverse groups in attendance. Our agency has already had the opportunity to continue with community interchange as a result of the forum.
