Our Diversity Program
The Diversity Program provides tools and training for a community where diversity is valued and welcomed. |
These include:
Securing the Next Generation: “Our Schools, Our Communities: Taking a Stand for Inclusion”
is a multi-media curriculum designed to support Aboriginal, other racialized and White high school students in their development of a positive racial and cultural identity. This Curriculum project was developed through funding from the Department of Canadian Heritage and in partnership with School District 68, including its Aboriginal Education Department and its Multicultural Race Relations Committee, and for their use. It has been accepted for use by the School District through its Curriculum Advisory Committee.
Now under new funding from the Ministry of Citizens' Services, Multiculturalism and Inclusive Communities this curriculum is expanding to all high schools in School District 68 and is being offered to all school districts across Vancouver island.
The Safe Harbour Program
where businesses and others commit to providing fair and respectful treatment for all, and to being a safe place for someone who is dealing with racism or hate.
Diversity Savvy Workshops
that help employers doing business in the new diverse marketplace to attract and keep the best talent.
Anti-racism Response Training
that offer people a change to learn how to challenge racist remarks when they hear them.
Diversity Dialogues
a tool that supports service providers in creating welcoming and welcoming organizations.
Other training as well as innovative workshops and tools are available to help create a community that both values and celebrates difference and that is welcoming and inclusive of all its members.
