Skilled Immigrants as Community Assets

In February 2004, the International Qualifications Program, in partnership with Citizenship and Immigration Canada, funded 16 exploratory and developmental projects across the Province.

These projects explored the current capacity, interest and strategic opportunities related to the labour market attachment of skilled immigrants in BC. Additionally, some projects identified best practices and developed resources to assist in addressing barriers to employment.

The Central Vancouver Island Multicultural Society was awarded the opportunity to participate in this initiative. The following report in .pdf format represents the outcome of our project.

Skilled Immigrants as Community Assets
To support the conceptualization and/or development of strategic integrated bridging services for skilled immigrants in the Nanaimo area.
