Central Vancouver Island Multicultural Society
At CVIMS, we believe in the power of working together. Through strong partnerships and community collaboration, we expand our impact, share resources, and build inclusive programs that reflect the diverse needs of our region.
We welcome opportunities to collaborate with organizations, businesses, and individuals who share our vision of a welcoming and inclusive community where newcomers and diverse peoples thrive.
Immigrant serving agencies play a vital role in welcoming newcomers and supporting their transition to life in a new community and country. In January 2011, four of Vancouver Island’s leading immigrant and multicultural service organizations came together to form the Vancouver Island Alliance, a collaborative initiative designed to strengthen services for immigrants and foster welcoming, inclusive communities across the Island.
The founding members include the Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria, Cowichan Intercultural Society, Central Vancouver Island Multicultural Society, and Campbell River Multicultural and Immigrant Services Association. These organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance their collective capacity through collaboration, resource sharing, and staff connection.
While each agency continues to operate independently, the Vancouver Island Alliance enables them to work more effectively together to support immigrants across the region. Through this unified approach, the Alliance reflects a shared vision: to make Vancouver Island a place where everyone feels they belong.
