Tell us a little about your role at CVIMS and what you enjoy most about your work.

In my current role, I have the opportunity to work with an amazing team that provides support to a wide variety of clients. As I am responsible for both Employment and BC Programs, I am in the unique position to be able to assist a diverse range of immigration statuses.

What I enjoy most about my work is the opportunity to make a tangible difference. Whether it’s seeing someone gain confidence, secure employment, or overcome barriers, those moments are incredibly rewarding. I also value the relationships I build—with my team, our partners, and the people we serve.

One of my favourite things is running into previous clients in the community. I enjoy seeing the success they’ve had, but more importantly, that they’ve settled, and are enjoying the area.

What is one project, accomplishment, or moment at work that you’re particularly proud of?

This past fall, I was asked by AMSSA (the provincial settlement umbrella organization) to assist with a project. This project was to increase the capacity and knowledge of settlement workers on how to provide employment support. In many organizations, settlement workers also provide employment information. Being able to assist AMSSA in creating this resource has the potential to impact settlement workers, and clients, across the province.

What motivates you every day, both professionally and personally?

I am motivated by my family. I try to ensure that I emulate the ideals that I value: resilience, compassion, and perseverance.

What’s one item on your bucket list?

To travel with my family, to give them an opportunity to see other areas of the world.
