It is with deep gratitude and excitement that I step into the role of Executive Director at CVIMS. Having spent the past 25 years growing, learning, and serving within this sector, I have had the privilege of seeing the remarkable strength and resilience of the newcomers and refugees who enrich our communities. CVIMS has always stood as a place of welcome, safety, and possibility, and I am deeply honoured to lead this mission in my new role.
To the newcomers and refugees who place their trust in us: you are still at the heart of everything we do. Your journeys, your courage, and your hopes continue to guide and inspire our work. My commitment to you is unwavering, CVIMS will always be a place where you are met with dignity, care, and the support you deserve as you build your new beginnings.
To our community partners and supporters: thank you for walking alongside us. In a time when racism, xenophobia, and hate continue to cause harm, our shared commitment to equity, inclusion, and anti-racism has never been more important. Together, we will continue working to ensure that all immigrants and diverse peoples feel safe, valued, and welcomed in our community.
And to our CVIMS staff-past and present: you are the backbone of this organization. Every act of service, every moment of compassion, and every challenge you navigate shapes the experience of those we serve. Your dedication, heart, and professionalism are what make CVIMS the trusted refuge it is. As Executive Director, supporting your well-being will be one of my highest priorities. I am committed to fostering a workplace where you feel valued, heard, supported, and able to grow, because the care you give to others must be matched by care for yourselves.
As I embark on this new chapter, I do so with humility, optimism, and a deep sense of responsibility.
