I’m very pleased to announce that Jennifer Fowler will join CVIMS as Executive Director on October 10th.

Jennifer comes to CVIMS from the City of Edmonton, where she has been Director of Community Relations and, since February 2014, Director of Multicultural Relations. As part of this role, she has been the City’s lead in the settlement of over 2100 Syrian refugees and was the key liaison with the Mayor and Council on multicultural and settlement issues. She also served for five years as Director of Communications for Legal Aid Alberta and, prior to that, she spent three years in Malawi working on development and social action projects.

Jennifer brings to CVIMS a wide range of skills in communications, executive leadership and administration. She is passionate about immigration and settlement issues and is excited about working with the staff at CVIMS in providing high quality services for newcomers to the Central Vancouver Island region. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Communications degree from Mount Royal University and a Masters in Intercultural and International Communications from Royal Roads University.

Please join me in welcoming Jennifer to CVIMS!
